Once you’ve talked about the problems in your relationship next you need to act upon what you both decided.  Words without action are pointless.  Your action proves your words as well as your feelings.  If your girlfriend admits she has a hard time kissing you because you smell like smoke perhaps you could try to stop smoking or at least not smoke when she’s going to be around (though don’t tell her you’ve quit then continue to smoke behind her back).  If your boyfriend admits he doesn’t like the way you just run off to do something with your friends and not tell him perhaps you should start opening that line of communication.

Forgiving and Forgetting

It’s going to take time to learn to fix the issues in your relationship you talk about but in the meantime you need to also forgive as well as work to forget past misdoings.  Have patience as your significant other works to solve the issue that arose.  He/she will have patience with you. It is considered bad form to constantly remind someone of his/her past mistakes especially when he/she is working to fix those mistakes.

Just because your relationship is facing some rough waters doesn’t mean everything is going to dissolve if a hurricane hits.  Prepare yourselves for the storm by having open communication, working together as much as possible to find solutions and fix issues and by forgiving each other and forgetting about past misdeeds.  Once you’ve mastered these three reconciling tips you’ll be able to fortifying your relationship to deal with any future tough circumstances.
